China car focus on market 85k-200k badly hit madza, Honda, Toyota market, MG5 price 85k interior and spec, room is far far better than vios and city
Honda CRV mid year promo discount 10k, civic 5k, madza is on the way facing heavy traffic jam so not yet reach malaysia market
Next will be Mazda EZ-6 (EV) No confirmed date yet. But with Thailand and Indonesia launching in 2025, Malaysia is expected to follow in late 2025 or early 2026, pending Bermaz's plans and tax policy timing.
Bermaz not joining the introduction of All New CX5 on the 10th July. If Bermaz continue selling the existing cx5 then sales sure slump from bad to worst
https://youtu.be/w3gDZtUHsBQ?si=iv84EjOMflxyK_qG majority of the analysts mentioned not optimistic about Bermaz prospects and their strategy of handling current market competitions. Too slow and not effective
Got rebate Michael but is not straight forward like others for example Honda crv their straight advertise 13k corolla cross 4k. Bermaz they just put rebate or special discount without exactly how much and some dealers just mentioned 23k for 2 5TAwd variant only. The rest variant not mention got rebate or not. Got some mentioned 6 year service and warranty without rebate. Bermaz really fail and standardised it's dealers.
That's y some dealers got advertise some don't. Not like Honda and Toyota standard across. Just wondering now already in July, old stock meaning the car is assemble in which month?
New cx5 has been revealed. Looking at the design is more modern and stylish now but doesn't has the timeless look in the current gen. Interior is minimalistic no more central button and physical buttons for air cond. All control by 15 inches screen. Even the meter is digital. Looks like the price maybe not much changes given that physical buttons has been eliminated to keep cost down.
Sales kept dropping. Dropped more than 110 units in June. Now total sales only 573 units. Continue like this maybe left 300 units before 1st quarter end
Total sales for all mazda models. Xpeng is 132 units kia 61 units. This Kia sportage is really not worth buying. Is just too expensive 186k can buy lots of other better suv. The lowest trim variant also another disaster just look at the interior display and the gear shift lever.
Now only hope is mazda 6e, mazda ez60 and new cx5 can save Bermaz. But don't think these models will be available here soon. Maybe another 2 years. Sad.......
By the time these new models available here dunno Bermaz share worth how much?!!!!. Other brands launch new model for sales, Bermaz only showcase new model but not available for sales. Sad seeing this Bermaz
Not all ppl like china car..Still got demand for Japanese cars so no worry..China cars got concern about 2nd hand value cause manufacturer dump price 2nd value drop more drastic
For outgoing models like cx5,cx8 dun think preserving resale value is important anymore. Most important is able to attract buyers before the new gen cx5, cx60 and cx80 come. I believe the current cx5 still able to attract buyer if the rebate and promo is very attractive buyer will understand they get big discount because is an outgoing models and won't mind the resale value will be lower. Now is crucial for Bermaz to boost up sales before all the new models really reach our shore.
In Malaysia: Kia & Mazda vs China
• Kia is competitive due to local CKD (Carnival, Sorento) and newer EVs like EV9 and upcoming EV3 (~RM165k), offering real alternatives to BYD (e.g., Atto 3 or Seal).
• Mazda struggles with no EV/strong hybrid in Malaysia, mostly relying on ICE. Mazda’s price point (e.g., CX-5, CX-8 at RM150k–220k) is close to fully spec’d BYD, Chery SUVs, but lacks tech advantage.
• Chinese brands, especially:
• BYD dominates EV value (Dolphin, Atto 3, Seal — RM100–180k),
• Chery and GWM undercut Korean/Japanese brands with better infotainment, ADAS, design at lower prices.
Mazda EZ‑60 (aka CX‑6e) – All‑Electric SUV
• First shown at Auto Shanghai 2025, with production planned in China .
• Launch expected September 2025 in China; international launch details still pending .
• Likely to follow the sedan’s ASEAN rollout.
Mazda 6e sedan: Likely to land in Malaysia late 2025, following ASEAN neighbors.
• Mazda EZ‑60 SUV: May debut 2026 or sooner, depending on ASEAN rollout.
Haha macam betul o 1. Overall Sales Dip
• Total Industry Volume (TIV) dropped sharply by about 21% month-on-month, down to roughly 53,500 units in June—down from 68,007 units in May—due to plant shutdowns during Hari Raya Aidiladha and rising SST affecting consumer sentiment .
• Year-over-year, June TIV is slightly lower than May 2024 (+3% vs May-24), but the month-to-month decline signals reduced sales momentum ().
